I keep a few blogs, a craft one....a doll one and even a fair few life blogs. But this is my FIRST public, public blog.
A large life-change is looming so I'd like a blog that I can devote to just coping with that.
September 6th:
"I swear filling out hospital forms is like sitting for a school exam. Grrr.
They gave me super-meds that help me sleep through pain, but downside is I've turned into an early-early turn in type.
Sandi has been such a help recently, just chatting away...giving me advice on doll customising and life issues. It means a heck of a lot. I'm so grateful, seriously...more than I can find the words for!"
September 9th:
"I just dyed my hair black blue.
I organised my Etsy favourites to become a to-buy list rather than just a 'oooh, pretty' list. I plan on eventually buying these items and cutting the list down. There are Blythe outfits, MSD sized ones, SD/DD sized ones and hats....
I faved a load of Aussie sellers and basically loved their gear more than I've seen international sellers list.
Tomorrow we are visiting my parent's house, I'm picking up the rest of my dolls whilst I'm there. Recently I cleaned, shifted and moved stuff in our house so they'll have their own spot. The Blythe girls live in the lounge-room bureau, the Pullips will be placed in the bedroom."
September 11th:
"First of all, went to my parent's house and now all my dolls are here.
A bit of well health, enthusiasm and an attitude of hard work. And I set to work.
First, Aozora was rebodied.
Then, I worked hard on making my own custom Pullip chips from the Velvet Minuet special set. It was long work, next time I think I may buy pre-made. But it's nice to try new things and they worked out well.
I put them in Cyrilie and rebodied her onto a soft bust Obitsu.
I even opened her up again and added purple lashes to finish her look today. Cyrilie no longer suits her so we have renamed her Celline.
Then yesterday after finishing some Pullip work I decided to work on my Blythes again. And, I did something I thought I'd be too scared to ever do. I scalped... not one, not two, but three.
I started on Floradella and that was super-difficult, me being new to the task and the amount of glue they used all over her head...it was hardcore!
Then, after some thought I decided to tackle Adamina's scalp, seeing she is getting her reroot in the mail soon. A few cuts and it virtually popped off! It surprised me.
With all the fear gone away... I then tackled Lychie and that was easy, not as easy as Adamina but pretty impressive."
September 14th:
"Aurora got the type 1 Pullip yellowing epidemic.
She was fine in storage when I checked her in February 2011 but now I have all my dolls out and rebodied the "dodgy" body Pullips, when it came time to Obitsu her. I was shocked...completely yellowed out.
I searched online but there was no quick fix like a magic eraser, wash or wipe that seemed to last so after I cleaned the garage I spent two hours sanding her back to her pale plastic.
I'm bummed out as she is a Street, one of my grails. But now she'll spend her life as a calavera [day of the dead candy skull] girl. I sanded her with two different grits, buffed her with a piece of wet n dry and a nice coat of MSC but I will end up spraying her white as things like her ears could not be sanded and de-yellowed.
I've got her design pinned up on my workspace, inspired by the other calaveras I've seen and adding my own little touches.
Now I'm knackered."
September 15th:
"Today I couldn't shake my sleepiness. My husbie is out tonight drinking, about time he did something for himself, he needs his mates and doesn't see them at all enough...he'll need support.
Me and my beautiful crawling helper sorted my bedroom, I folded and moved clothes.... put them in each set drawer. I hung up the nice pieces in my wardrobe with pride.
I fixed my two drawer side-table, one has all my lovely treasures in: bags of childish memories, bags of precious stones and shells and all my favourite pieces of jewellery. All near, within reach so when I am on bedrest I can look at whatever I want.
The other drawer holds hand sanitiser, holy water, prayer verses, my rosaries....and a pashmina for my shoulders and space for sneaky snacks and a deck of cards.
After that, my little princess was restless and sleepy so off I put her to bed, dummy in mouth - lullaby playing - baby monitor on.I settled down. Got the dog's food ready, his water... pulled a rubbish bag around the house gathering and cleaning.I sprayed MSC on Aurora again, last coat before I spray her white. I'm all restless now, so I came online while I half-watch a movie.
Must be my hard-core meds, it's all like nesting all over again.
What I need to pack in my hospital bag:
- knickers
- sleep-tees/nightwear
- music player
- magazines
- study bible
- apple-scented shampoo
- goat-milk soap
- medical tummy girdle
- toothbrush and toothpaste
- melon butter lotion
- sleep socks
- meds
- sanitary pads
- deodorant and hairbrush
I'll pack a Blythe up in her own bag so J can bring her for a day-visit depending...."
*-* much love *-*
