A case of the Geo-Jitters

Yesterday I received my GPS receiver in the post.

Before my surgery, an online friend enthusiastically told me of their adventures geocaching. It sounded interesting, fun but I supposed with my health in that state the closest I would come to doing it would be reading the logs of others online.

I like to learn, to research...so I read up on the topic. And after my surgery, plateauing in my recovery, I was reminded yet again and thought "what's stopping me now?"

I thought about it and realised, the only thing stopping me now is me. I went from walking everywhere to...going nowhere. So why don't I change that?

I formed a Geocaching team, grabbed a free friend and headed out. Elouise in her buggy, clapping her hands.... GPSr, pen, pad in my swag.

We ended up finding 3 local cache, all in all I got 5 hours of walking... good old-fashioned exercise.

I'm on the way to getting social, getting fit, getting out and getting happy.
